General Description

Crystal Cut 280 is a low foaming, oil-rejecting, synthetic fluid specially formulated for machining and grinding of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The near neutral pH allows for stain free machining of aluminum, brass and copper. Although suitable for all materials, Crystal Cut 280 excels on non-ferrous materials. Crystal Cut 280 contains environmentally responsible ingredients. The advanced formulation affords lower consumption, better cooling and superior lubrication.

Application

Crystal Cut 280 is recommended for light to heavy duty machining of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It works very well in grinding applications and is compatible with most wheel types. The excellent cooling and rinsing characteristics keep the grinding wheel from loading up, reduces dressing, both of which contribute to extending wheel life. The advanced synthetic ingredients in the CC280 allow for excellent machining in high heat applications such as turning and milling. CC280 can be used in high-pressure systems beyond 1500 psi. CC280 will not go rancid even in the toughest environments such as concrete sumps and heavy tramp oil contamination.

Instructions

Mixing Instructions: Always add concentrate to water. Avoid adding straight water or straight concentrate to the machine. Always pre-mix the coolant before adding to the machine. Crystal Cut 280 is a full synthetic coolant and as such requires only very weak dilutions to keep the machine charge at the recommended concentrations. Always use a refractometer to test the concentration before adding coolant to the machine. We recommend the use of a Hangsterfer’s Accu-mix Proportioning Unit to pre-mix the coolant. For best results, we recommend the use of de-ionized water or water prepared with a reverse osmosis system. Hard water or water otherwise loaded with minerals can reduce corrosion protection and shorten sump life.

Maintenance

Maintenance: Crystal Cut 280 is a bioresistant synthetic coolant, designed to control the growth of bacteria. Good water quality and good concentration control are required for maximum performance. Concentration should be monitored regularly with a calibrated refractometer. Tramp oils should be removed from the coolant surface regularly to prevent unwanted bacterial growth. Keep the coolant system free of cleaners, solvents and other contaminants.
