General Description

Hangsterfer’s CT-11 is a full synthetic coolant designed for general machining and grinding applications. The advanced Extreme Pressure additives of CT-11 combine excellent lubricity with the cooling capability of a full synthetic. The result is a high quality, extremely stable coolant that provides superior performance over a broad range of applications on a variety of materials. The non-toxic and non-corrosive formulation is safe for both the operator and the machine tool.

Application

The innovative synthetic anti-wear properties of CT-11 enable it to deliver excellent tool life and surface finish results in areas where other brands of synthetics typically fail. CT-11 can be used at high concentration for difficult applications without the sticky residue and aggressive pH often associated with other brands of synthetic coolants. Some operations appropriate for CT-11 would be General Machining with the Concentration at 5% - 10%, Turning at 5% - 10% and Grinding at 2% - 6%.

Materials

CT-11 is suitable for both machining and turning of cast iron, carbon steel, hardened steel, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, high nickel alloys and titanium.

Instructions

Always premix coolant before adding to the machine sump. When mixing coolant by hand it is important to always add the concentrate to the water, and then agitate. For best results a Hangsterfer’s recommended proportioning unit should be used. To maintain recommended concentration make-up should be added at one-half the desired concentration. To maintain 6%: first charge the machine at 6%, then as needed add make-up at 3%. Never add straight water or concentrate directly to machine.

Maintenance

CT-11 is a biostable synthetic coolant, designed to control the growth of bacteria. Regular maintenance is required for maximum performance. Concentration should be monitored regularly with a calibrated refractometer. CT-11 has a conversion factor of 2 when using a refractometer (e.g. 2=4%). Tramp oils should be removed from the coolant surface regularly to prevent unwanted bacterial growth. Keep the system free of cleaners, solvents and other contaminants.
